Key Staff

Pawan Bishnoi, General Manager

Qualifications: MBA specialised in Health Service Management, Graduate Certificate in Health Service management, Bachelor of Nursing, AHPRA Registered, Diploma in Operational and Supply Chain Management, Data Analysis Course, Financial Modelling in Decision-Making and Business Planning.

Experience: Pawan has practiced as a Registered Nurse for 12 years in the aged care sector. Through his career, he has worked as an Acting Regional Manager, Service Manager, Clinical Practice lead, Care Manager, Clinical Coordinator and as a Registered Nurse.

Pawan has extensive experience in leadership and management roles devoting the past 12 years of his career to specialise in health care management roles within the aged care sector.

Being a strong values-based leader, Pawan’s passion is to deliver a sustainable client centred health care service while maintaining the dignity and individuality of each resident in aged care.

Pawan is responsible for leading the team in all key performance areas including Regulatory Compliance, Clinical Governance, Staff Management, Financial Management and general oversight of the facility.


Kyle Hope, Finance Manager

Qualifications: Bachelor of Commerce

Kyle migrated from South Africa to Australia in 2005. He has completed a Bachelor of Commerce and has been with Forest Lake Lodge since 2011. As Finance Manager, Kyle is responsible for resident billing, accounts payable/receivable, payroll and review of CAPS, which exceeds $10 million annually.

Kyle is also responsible for facility Prudential reporting, he ensures that the Liquidity Standard, the Records Standard, the Governance Standard and the Disclosure Standard are in accordance with legislative requirements.

Kyle is always available to help families and residents with understanding their financial responsibilities.

Aires Lim, Clinical Coordinator - Central

Qualifications: Bachelor of Nursing, AHPRA Registered

Aires is originally from the Phillippines and migrated permanently to Australia in 2008. Aires has worked in several industries but found her calling in Aged Care.

She is committed to improving her knowledge and is currently studying for a Graduate Certificate in Chronic Disease Management and Healthy Ageing through the University of Tasmania and is also studying for a Diploma of Dementia Care.

Before she started working in aged care, Aires worked in various hospitals as an agency nurse and prior to this, she worked for Southern Cross Care as an RN for 5 years.

Aires passion is aged care as she is drawn to chronic disease management and healthy aging, dementia care as well as holistic palliation management.

Aires has been working with Forest Lake Lodge since November 2022.


Raman Saggu, Clinical Coordinator - Memory Retreat

Qualifications: Masters in Computer Science, Diploma of Nursing (TAFE) and Bachelor of Nursing (University of Queensland)

Raman mentored educators in the Department of Computer Science in India before migrating to Australia in 2009.

After finishing the Bachelor of Nursing, Raman found passion in aged care and worked as an Agency nurse and Regular Nurse in Blue Care and Southern Cross.

While working in Blue Care Raman worked as Infection protection and control lead, Quality Support Officer and Acting Care Coordinator/ Care manager until securing a job in Forest Lake Lodge as a Care Coordinator.

Raman has a passion for Dementia residents, and she will lead the Memory Retreat team for effectiveness, communication, performance and practice.


BOARD MEMBERS

Evan Hill (Independent Non-Executive Chairman)

Ba. Nursing, PGrd. Paramedicine, MACN, GAICD, GAICG

Evan has a 15-year plus career in Senior health management in variety of locations, including Aged and Community care, Correctional and Immigration detention, Private hospitals, and the Aboriginal healthcare sector. Evan provides services to several healthcare accreditation bodies as a surveyor and sits as an Examiner for internationally qualified Nurses on behalf of AHPRA.

Evan also provides services to several Universities as a sessional academic and Lecturer.

Evan has previously been ministerially appointed to sit on the Western Australia Nursing and Midwifery board.

Evan has successfully led aged care organisations through high level strategic change and master planning to ensure future proofing of the organisations and the sector. He has also had previous success with healthcare business mergers and acquisitions.

With a passion for robust Clinical Governance, Evan has developed and introduced modern and effective models of care in a variety of locations to meet required standards and to ensure that effective and safe clinical care is delivered to consumers and patients. Evan has assisted several organisations with their corporate and clinical governance models to ensure ongoing compliance and best practice.


David Masters (Independent Non-Executive Director)

Ba.Eng, M.EngMgmt, PGrdDip.BusMgmt, Cert.ESG leadership MAICD

David has over 15 years’ experience in business management holding various corporate roles across Engineering, Human resources, Finance and property strategy within large organisations.

Additionally he has a further 10 years experience as a non-executive Director with tenures on the Boards of several large organisations across Australia in the aged care, health care, property development and education sectors.

David contribution to the Board is through governance, property and risk drawing on vast experience in the aged care industry to enhance the best practices.

David has a passion for sustainability and has completed leadership courses in ESG and sustainability for organisations.


Matt Sierp (Independent Non-Executive Director)

Ba. Nursing, GAICD

Matt Sierp has in excess of 35 years in the aged care sector. Matt has worked for small, medium and large aged care providers in Qld, NSW and SA. Matt has extensive experience as CEO of aged care organisations providing Residential Care, In Home Care and Retirement Living. Matt continues to provide advice and support to regional and rural providers and oversees the retirement village developments for Sapphire Coast Community Aged Care.

Matt has held several health-related Directorships in the primary health care settings and has Chaired a number of Clinical Governance Committees in the past.

With a passion for robust Clinical Governance, Matt has ensured effective models of care are provided in all aged care roles and ensure consumers experience is supported. Matt has recently commenced his transition to retirement and moved back to Queensland.


Peter Malhotra (Independent Member of the Board Finance Committee)

Peter has over 15 years of experience across diverse industries such as aged care, health, hospitality, logistics, and non-profits.

His career is marked by successful project management, strategic leadership, and a passion for continuous improvement.

Being involved with Forest Lake Lodge is incredibly fulfilling, as it allows me to apply my skills to support and strengthen our community.

I enjoy collaborating with like-minded individuals to drive initiatives that make a tangible difference in the lives of our communities.


Sue Lord (Executive Director)

MSc DIC, B.Biotech Innov, GAICD

With a passion for making a difference in the environment through business, Sue specialises in operational management, property and grant writing.  Sue also brings experience from a medical research background and has a holistic approach to operational management.

Sue has held various roles at Forest Lake Lodge and Lollies Management since 2013 and was appointed as Chair of the Board in 2019 when she spearheaded expanding the Board’s structure to include a Non-Executive Chair, Non-Executive Director and qualified Company Secretary. This initiative has resulted in effective governance being implemented throughout the organisation. Effective reporting and a systems approach have been key.

When Sue was more operational, she lead the expansion of the facility and securing of many key grants including significant refurbishment. She lead the transition to the new Quality Standards in-house and the implementation of a quality system to support compliance.

Dr Sidney Lau (Director and Owner)

MBBS, FAMC, GAICD

Dr Sid has practiced as an Australian General Practitioner for over 40 years and currently maintains a busy Medicare-funded acupuncture clinic in Brisbane. Dr Sid is a thoughtful leader focused on leading a movement to better address people’s needs through innovation.

Dr Sid has owned and operated several businesses over the years, including an after-hours medical practice and currently owns The Gap Cubbyhouse childcare, which provides care for 98 children.

Dr Sid expanded Forest Lake Lodge from a 65-bed nursing home when he acquired it in 1988. He then designed and constructed a 125-bed establishment over two stages. He has assumed a role of mentorship and oversight from 2012.


Sheridan Cooper (Company Secretary)

LLB, BBus (Accy), Grad Dip (Company Secretarial Practice), AGIA, MAICD

Sheridan is a corporate governance, compliance and relationship management expert with over 20 years’ experience working with and advising boards, executive management and operating committees in the governance of their organisations.

During this time, Sheridan has worked as a governance professional for Australian and international organisations within a wide range of industries including health, mining, financial services, construction, aged care, rail and logistics. Sheridan’s experience spans the not-for-profit, charity, private, Government, government-owned corporation and listed sectors. Sheridan has also served as a Director on the board of a credit union for six years, with four of those as Deputy Chair, and Chair of the Audit and Risk Committee.

Sheridan has extensive personal experience as the company secretary of a number of organisations and a deep understanding of the varying governance and legal requirements of each organisation dependent upon their size, complexity and specific sector requirements. Sheridan has been responsible for delivering fit for purpose governance frameworks, compliance in statutory corporate administration, and reporting and managing complex joint venture governance structures within an international framework.

Sheridan’s strong governance background has been built on a career foundation in accounting and law, and working in a number of commercial roles before going on to complete governance qualifications through the Governance Institute of Australia.
